Take steps to prepare you home for wildfire season.

Keep your property lean and green to help protect your family and home.

Fire adapted communities reduce the potential for loss of human life and injury, minimize damage to homes and infrastructure, and reduce firefighting costs.

Public Safety Outage Management (PSOM)

The NV Energy Public Safety Outage Management (PSOM) program is a wildfire-risk mitigation initiative that temporarily de-energizes transmission lines in designated high-risk zones when extreme weather, dry vegetation and fire threats combine.

The PSOM website is useful because it helps residents and businesses stay informed about potential power shutoffs, view current and planned PSOM zones, and learn how to prepare for outages during periods of elevated wildfire danger.

Harden Your Home

Consider making your property more resistant to wildfire. Take individual responsibility to reduce flammable material around homes and communities before a fire occurs to keep your property and firefighters safe.

Make Your Home Fire Safe

From roofs, to decks, and everything in between.

Firewise Landscaping

The Firewise Communities approach emphasizes community responsibility for planning in the design of a safe community as well as effective emergency response, and individual responsibility for safer home construction and design, landscaping, and maintenance.

Reduce wildfire threat this season.
